Hi everyone,
We hope you are all well, with peaceful spring skies above you, everything waking up around you, and some great music playing somewhere close by.
Today’s letter is addressed especially to our preorder founders.
It is no secret that, from the very beginning of Revibed, we did not allow Various releases through moderation. The reason was simple. Rights on those records are often too fragmented, too unclear, and too difficult to align in full, which meant we could not treat them as proper legal reissues.
That situation is beginning to change.
We have become better at tracing and finding artists featured on Various releases, and that opens up a new path for us. Instead of thinking only in terms of reissuing a full compilation, we can now start looking at individual tracks and bringing them back as singles, where rights have actually been signed.
Put simply, even if we cannot reach every artist on a release, or not every contributor can be found, we still have a way forward. We can reissue the music for which rights have been properly cleared, without needing to force the whole release into one impossible legal shape.
So yes, we are going to try.
This is not the kind of work that comes with a ready-made roadmap. It is delicate territory, and the real learning will come through doing. But for the first time, it feels like Various releases are no longer closed doors for Revibed. They are becoming something we can approach carefully, selectively, and lawfully.
As always, thank you to everyone who keeps pushing this platform forward, especially those of you whose curiosity and preorder activity continue to show us where the real cultural value still lives.
