Hey everyone, how was your weekend? Mine was… unexpected. Can’t say much more because, well, I don’t remember much. But reading your messages is helping jog my memory bit by bit—so thanks for that! And an even bigger thank you for writing in and helping me shape my editor’s letters.

Lately, I’ve noticed a few of you asking us to snap up “hot” records before a pre-order is fully funded. And trust me, I get it—especially when it’s a record that’s been out of stock for ages, and suddenly a copy pops up. Of course, you want us to grab it before it’s gone.

But here’s the thing—our buyers are strictly not allowed to do that. We used to, back in the day. And the result? A backlog of records that didn’t get fully funded and are now sitting in stock, unsold—even at cost price. I think I’ve mentioned this before, but it’s worth repeating: a record’s price isn’t just what we pay for it. There’s shipping, VAT, customs… and these extra costs often push the total price way up. That’s why pre-orders are such a vital part of our economy.

So if you want more projects to happen on Revibed, help us spread the word! Share pre-orders on your socials. It really makes a difference.

And since we’re on the topic, here’s a little spoiler for you: from 1st March, the cost of joining a pre-order will go up. So if you’ve got projects in mind, February is your chance to lock them in at the current rate. But don’t worry—it’s not all bad news! We’re also introducing a multi-cut feature, meaning one user can now enter a project with multiple shares.
