Hey everyone,
We’re a community built on trust, curiosity, and great taste. We bend over backwards to help—answer questions, reopen cases, negotiate prices, and find solutions. That won’t change.
What is changing is how we moderate abuse around pre-orders. Starting September 17, 2025, our admin team is taking a closer look at pricing and sourcing to protect contributors, artists, the vinyl market, and the platform.
Why this matters (in plain words)
Some users have tried to game pricing—buying cheap records at inflated prices between affiliated accounts, letting them “rest,” then launching pre-orders at those inflated levels.
We’ve also seen off-platform file trading and reselling of Revibed files below platform price, which undermines artists and the community that funds these projects.
We don’t want to inflate the market or create artificial demand. We’re here to celebrate music, not speculation.
What’s changing right now
1) Stricter price moderation: We’ll vet asks against time-series sales data (peaks, medians, volume, condition).
2) Market-aligned counter-offers: If a listing is out of line, we’ll counter. If the seller won’t budge, we’ll close or decline.
3) Rights & seller checks: More diligence on rights-holders and seller behavior.
4) No abuse, no exceptions: Friendly to everyone; zero tolerance for abuse.
What’s coming next
In the next sprints, we’ll pilot a transparent funding model where the project cost (and needed contributor count) reflect the real all-in total: record price, shipping, Discogs/PayPal fees, VAT/customs, and digitization. The goal: clearer expectations, fairer budgets, healthier outcomes.
We’re always here to talk—kindly, directly, and constructively. If you have questions or ideas, reply to this message or email editor@revibed.com
