FLAC, AIFF, WAV & 10K Followers – A Love Story
Hello, Revibers and Reviberettes! Though, if we’re being completely honest, according to our user stats, digging through crates of rare vinyl is still very much a gentlemen’s pursuit. Google Analytics tells us that only 5% of Revibed users are women. The remaining 95% of you fine gents frequently ask—nay, demand—that we provide music files in multiple formats.
Dear audiophiles, we simply can’t. Not because we don’t love you, but because we don’t have the cash to maintain the kind of storage infrastructure required for that. And until someone invents a real-time format conversion system that doesn’t cost a small fortune, we’re sticking with FLAC.
Why FLAC? Because it saves us all from an endless Mac vs. Windows deathmatch—where one faction swears by .aiff, while the other chants the sacred hymns of .wav. FLAC, however, converts beautifully into anything you need without any quality loss, and even CDJs love it.
We’ll be writing more about this soon on our Instagram, which we’re turning into a proper resource for those who care not just about music, but about sound itself. Oh, and speaking of Insta—we hit 10K followers! 🎉
