I often find myself pondering the question: what makes Revibed truly special? How is it any different from other digital music shops out there? And no matter how I slice it, I always come back to the same answer: our value lies in the fact that anyone can use Revibed to digitise nearly any record, often regardless of its rarity or price.
But let’s step away from the tangible for a moment. Revibed offers something far more profound: the chance to preserve millions of rare releases that might otherwise vanish into obscurity. Just think about it—how many rare records have been lost forever floods, fires, earthquakes etc? I’d wager that during the recent events in Los Angeles, the world lost hundreds maybe thousands of records that now exist only in memory. They were pressed on a handful of vinyl copies, had no master tapes, and will never be restored or shared again.
This is why I’m reaching out to ask for a bit of support. First and foremost, simply tell one person about us. That’s it. It might seem small, but it makes a world of difference—for you, for us, and for music lovers everywhere. More people mean more knowledge, more incredible projects, and faster, more successful preorder campaigns to bring them to life.
One more thing: 80% of pre-orders on Revibed are for records costing over €75, often crowdfunded by contributors. What’s more, 30% of those cost at least double that, and 15% triple, once VAT, customs, and shipping are added to the mix. It’s a tough road to keep those costs manageable, so we kindly ask you to visit our Discogs shop and perhaps find something to add to your collection. We believe you’ll be genuinely impressed by the selection. Every pound we raise from selling these records will be reinvested into acquiring even more rare and undiscovered vinyl for you to enjoy.
