On Prices, Preorders, and the Bigger Picture!

Dear Revibed Community,

This is a topic that matters—not just to you, our dedicated users, but to us as a team working behind the scenes to keep this project alive and thriving. A week has passed since the price adjustment on preorders, and we’ve received a handful of puzzled messages from some of our most active supporters.

Naturally, the big question is: why did we raise the prices?

The simple answer? Because the cost of running preorders keeps rising. Just as we all feel the pinch of climbing rents, utility bills, and grocery prices, we too are facing increasing expenses—more tax going to the treasury, higher fees to rights holders, Discogs, customs, and crucially, to postal services.

To put things into perspective: last month alone, Revibed launched around 40 preorders, and more than half of them had an acquisition cost of €120–€150 per record—nearly twice the amount raised per project by contributors. And that’s before factoring in the running costs of our sound studio.

So, we had a choice: either stop working with preorders altogether or adjust the prices and trust in your understanding.

That said, let’s not forget that our cashback system for founders fully offsets preorder costs—no matter how high the price of acquisition. And for contributors, it significantly reduces the financial impact as well.

We get it—price changes are never popular. But if there’s one thing we ask, it’s to ride this out with us, with patience and good spirit.

Now, onto the music.

Three absolutely outstanding preorders are live right now, and they deserve your attention:

🎶 Ayssa Pen And The Chiba Ladies – Chuy Chuy

A wild fusion of bold synthesizers and arcade-style energy, this rare Spanish gem is as bizarre as it is irresistible—pure fun at its finest!

🎶 Sam Benson – Disco (Do You Believe In Disco?)

This ’70s 7-inch is a double delight—A-side brings sweet disco romance to the dancefloor, while the B-side slows it down with the ultimate laid-back groove.

🎶 Deborah Cox vs. Mother's Pride – Just Be Good...

A single-sided release blending Deborah Cox’s soulful vocals from Just Be Good to Me with Mother’s Pride’s hypnotic Floribunda—a seamless house-infused fusion made for the dancefloor!

Wishing you all a great weekend—peace, music, and the first signs of spring.
